Red Dead Microtransaction 2

GRAND Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games has been teasing a new Red Dead game in recent days. Now we now know what it is: Red Dead Microtransaction 2!

Of course, this is how social media reacted..

The developer confirmed the rumours on their website. They also shared the good news that fans will begin warming their wallets when the first trailer for the game premieres on Friday morning AEDT.

“Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Microtransaction 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer cash cow ripe for a milking” the site said.

The announcement states that the game is planned for PS4 and Xbox One. Its expected that cashed up PC Master Race members will be asked to present themselves for a milking once the console peasants have been wrung dry.

Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead Redemption.. Pretty.

The last Red Dead Redemption game was a big seller though critics and fans felt it was sorely missing micro transactions.

Rockstar aims to fix that with the new Red Dead Online which, like GTA Online, will hopefully add another half billion USD to Take-Two Interactive’s bottom line. has the scoop on the first two paid DLC’s dropping after the release.

Grand Theft Steed” will be a mix of the basketball game HORSE and an equine version of Gone In 60 Seconds.

Nick Cage may be a playable character.. For $1.99, of course.

The second paid DLC is titled “The Ballard of The STUD Ranch“.  It will explore the social issues created by intergenerational trauma for the LBGTCI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Cowboy and Indian) community in the wild west.

Although Rockstar seem to have a habit of delaying release dates for 6 months, Red Dead Microtransaction 2 is currently expected to be launching this time next year.

(And likely on PC 6 months after that.)

The Real Red Dead
Jokes aside.. It’s going to be a cracker!
